English version below! Mi nombre es Karina y soy la autora de éste blog y de todos los trabajos que aquí se publican. El crochet es algo que me me ha encantado toda mi vida, aunque no tiene nada que ver con mi profesión que es la ingeniería. Sin embargo, fué hace poco que me decidí a darle el lugar que se merece y compartir este hobby que tenía prácticamente oculto, con todos ustedes.
Desde hace muchos años vivo en la ciudad de Montevideo, Uruguay, aunque nací y me crié en una localidad rural del departamento de Canelones. Vivo con mi pareja Javier, no tengo hijos, pero tengo un sobrino, Benjamín, que se lleva todos los mimos. Disfruto mucho yendo a visitar a mis padres y a mis tres hermanos, cuando estamos todos juntos somos multitud!
Este blog está dedicado a tres mujeres muy importantes en mi vida: en primer lugar a mi madre Carmen, que fué quien me enseño crochet cuando era una niña y ha sido siempre mi referencia y mi gran inspiración. También a mi abuela paterna Amalia, que era modista y según dicen todos, de ella heredé mi paciencia y el gusto por las manualidades. Y por último a mi abuela materna Delia, mi segunda madre. Ella misma decía que no herede nada de su lado en lo que respecta a las manualidades. Pero siempre le encantaban las cosas que hacía y era sin dudas mi fan número uno, por eso también éste blog lleva su nombre.
Quiero agradecerle a todos los que me ayudaron y me motivaron a concretar esta idea. En especial a un gran fotógrafo y también mi amigo del alma: Marquicio Pagola (http://picardo.photography/). Gracias a su excelente trabajo es que puedo compartir los contenidos de este blog con ustedes.
Desde la creación de éste blog han pasado muchas cosas, más de las que me esperaba sin dudas. De a poco, esa idea inicial que parecía un tanto loca va tomando forma y con cada “Me Gusta”, ya sea virtual o en la vida real, siento una alegría enorme!

My name is Karina and I am the author of this blog and all the items published here. Crocheting is something I’ve loved my entire life, even though it has nothing to do with my profession, which is engineering. However, it was quite recently that I decided to give it the place that deserves and shared this hobby, that I had practically hidden, with all of you.
I’ve been living in Montevideo for several years now, although I was born and raised in the country side of Uruguay, in the province of Canelones. I live with my partner Javier, I don't have kids but I have a nephew, Benjamín, who is my pampered baby. I enjoy a lot visiting my parents and my three siblings, when we are all together it’s a crowd!
This blog is dedicated to three women very important in my life: first of all to my mom, Carmen, who taught me crochet when I was a little girl and has been always my reference and inspiration. Also to my paternal grandmother, Amalia, who was a dressmaker. Everyone says that I inherit my patience and love for crafts from her. And finally my maternal grandmother and my second mom, Delia. She used to say I have not inherited anything from her side regarding crafts, but she always loved the things I made and she was undoubtedly my number one fan. That’s the reason why this blog has her name.
I want to thank everyone that helped me and motivated me to develop this idea. In particular, I want to thank a great photographer and also my soul friend: Marquicio Pagola (http://picardo.photography/). Thanks to his excellent work is that I can share the contents of this blog with you.
Many things have happened since this blog was created, more than what I was expecting for sure. Little by little, the initial idea that sounded a bit crazy is taking shape and every “Like”, virtual or in real life, is a great joy for me!
